Darin Layne Porter and Layne S. Porter
|
In 2007, Layne was approached by his friend and former distributor, Frances Perry, to appear on stage at "Colonial Days" in Provo, Utah as part of the local "Freedom Festival" celebration. As a result of this invitation and over the following year, Layne wrote the muscial, patriotic program "Voice of the Patriots." On July 2-5, 2008, Layne appeared on stage with his guitar and a microphone and performed for the first time, "Voice of the Patriots."
During the following year, Layne's son, Darin, wrote and engineered all the musical arrangements for the show. Darin also joined his father on stage that year in performing "Voice of the Patriots" and to this day, they are still performing together.
We Speak for the Patriots
We speak for the Patriots who are not here to speak for themselves.
The patriots who, with foresight and determination, signed their names to the Declaration of Independence knowing that it meant freedom or death.
We speak for the soldiers who stood faithfully on the field of battle side by side with George Washington. Despite insufficient clothing, little ammunition and meager food supplies, they faced the best supplied, best trained and most powerful army in the world.
We speak for freedom as spoken in the Declaration of Independence: The unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The right to live our lives, exercise liberty and pursue happiness equal with all other men without interference from government.
We speak for the American Dream. This dream is the reason for the existence of America and our way of life. The belief that in America "anything is possible," is the reason millions of immigrants have come to this country starting as early as 1620. It has continued without interruption for more than 200 years.
Without the American Dream there would not have been a Revolutionary War, a Declaration of Independence, or a Constitution that inspires people from all nations to seek the freedom that we enjoy in the United States of America.
The freedom to pursue the American Dream is the privilege of every American. This freedom is unique to America. It is here, where freedom was born, that the greatest freedom is available to all who come.
We must speak! Our children and grand-children are depending on us to protect and preserve their freedom, and the freedom of the generations that will follow after them.
